Mark has been with Energi Danmark since 2017, when he joined as an apprentice as part of his business economics studies. In 2019, he finished his apprenticeship with Energi Danmark and has since been working as a Financial Assistant with responsibilities within liquidity, warranties and budgets in the Accounting department.
"The company has always placed a great deal of trust in me and that is a huge source of motivation in my work. I feel that my superiors believe in me and that is really important. New opportunities also provide the chance to develop," explains Mark.
During Mark's apprenticeship, several of his tasks involved bookkeeping and accounts, while his current work tasks largely involve cash management, including liquidity, budgets, contact with banks, etc. These tasks are crucial for ensuring that Energi Danmark's trading department is able to perform its work.
"I never know what my day will look like. Perhaps I will be speaking with an international bank, which shouldn't take very long, but they do not always work in the same way that we are used to and you might suddenly find that the task takes several hours to complete."
When Mark has been working as a Financial Assistant for a year and has gained some more practical experience, he plans to take the second part of his BCom education in finance, alongside his job with Energi Danmark. The studies will take two years.
"I also intend to take the next step, even if it means doubling up to get it done alongside my work. But thankfully I know that I have full support from my employer," Mark concludes.
